About ISC Ramla
This is an online collaboration of the daily experiences of 10 young adults, participating in the Israel Service Corps program coordinated by Oranim Educational Initiatives. ISC is a 5 month volunteer program where participants live and work in a peripheral region of Israel. ISC #4 has been chosen to continue in Ramla, a diverse immigrant community located in central Israel.
As participants of ISC #4, our first responsibility is to integrate into society and assist the community of Ramla. We work in high schools, after school programs, museums, retirement homes, community centers, and with youth groups to improve the general English proficiency and motivate the community for future success. In addition, participants live together in a group house, learn Hebrew at Ulpan, and take trips around Israel.
ISCRamla.com is an interactive website. You’ll find our blog entries as well as our photo galleries. We invite everyone to register at the bottom right so you can leave comments on our posts and photos.
Israel Service Corps (ISC) is a revolutionary new opportunity to make a difference in Israel, for Israel and for yourself.
In the 1880’s Zionist pioneers from throughout the world worked to create a new Jewish state in our ancient homeland - the Land of Israel. Moved by the tenacity and sacrifice of those pioneers, ISC will provide today’s young Jewish adults, aged 18-30, with a similar opportunity to meet pressing needs in Israeli society and inspire through action.
Based in local communities throughout Israel, ISC participants will become an integral part of Israel society for an unforgettable five-months. ISC participants will choose from meaningful volunteer opportunities, enjoy excursions throughout the country, acquire and use Hebrew, live among Israelis and make lifelong friendships.
Community Involvement Program
In Israel, there are “peripheral” areas outside of the urban centers where new immigrants often live side-by-side with various Jewish ethnic groups from the world over. It is in these communities that ISC volunteers can play a key role in helping children and youth maximize their potential.
ISC volunteers will help teach English, computer skills, sports, music, leadership, drama and theater-based on the ISC volunteer’s skills and experience-and enrich the community via social activities for community members.
Sincerely,

Erez Strasborg - Director Israel Service Corps
